Kim Brown started her undergrad program in nursing at UW-Oshkosh in 2008 and shortly after went on to join the Army National Guard in 2009, as a combat medic. Kim deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 and came back to Oshkosh to finish her degree. Kim graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. As a student-intern for three years, she worked with children ages 6-12 who struggled with obesity and depression in a 3-tier program called “Kids Underground”. The program involved children and their parents in group therapy, family exercise and activities, as well as meal-planning and preparing.

Kim started her Master of Social Work program in 2015. Kim also found her passion in working with Veterans who struggle with substance use, while interning at the Madison VA’s Addiction Disorders Treatment Program.
